Rubik's Cube Maneuver: The Ultimate Freestyle Drone Trick

Steps to Perform a Rubik's Cube Maneuver

The Rubik’s Cube involves a series of precise stick inputs that must be performed in quick succession. Here’s a breakdown of how to execute the maneuver step-by-step:

Step 1: Start with a Half-Roll

  • Initiate the Roll: Begin by moving the right stick (roll control) to the left or right to execute a half-roll. This will rotate the drone 180 degrees, inverting it upside down.
  • Throttle Control: Reduce throttle slightly during the roll to maintain altitude and prevent the drone from climbing too high.

Step 2: Perform a Full Flip

  • Flip the Drone: Once the half-roll is complete, pull the right stick (pitch control) backward or push it forward to initiate a full flip. This will rotate the drone around its pitch axis.
  • Maintain Throttle: Keep a steady throttle to prevent the drone from losing altitude during the flip.

Step 3: Execute Another Roll

  • Second Roll: After completing the flip, perform another half-roll by moving the right stick left or right (opposite of the first roll). This will return the drone to an upright position.
  • Throttle Control: As with the previous movements, use slight throttle adjustments to maintain a consistent altitude.

Step 4: Complete the Sequence

  • Finish with a Flip or Roll: To complete the Rubik’s Cube, you can either perform one final flip or roll to add an extra flair to the maneuver. Typically, this step is up to the pilot’s discretion depending on how they want to finish the sequence.
