Advanced Maneuvers and Techniques for Expert Drone Pilots
Orbit with Speed Variation
The Orbit is a basic maneuver that involves circling around a point of interest. However, advanced pilots can add a layer of complexity by varying the speed and altitude during the orbit to create dynamic shots.
How to Perform a Dynamic Orbit:
- Choose a Point of Interest: Pick an object (like a tree, building, or person) to orbit around.
- Use Yaw and Roll: Simultaneously yaw the drone to keep the camera pointed at the object while using the right stick to maintain a smooth, circular flight path.
- Vary Speed and Altitude: As you orbit, gradually increase or decrease throttle to change altitude, and adjust the yaw to speed up or slow down the orbit for a more dynamic effect.
Example:
A dynamic orbit is often used in professional videography, especially in real estate or sports events, where you want to showcase a subject from all angles while adding motion and depth to the shot.
